If you’ve ever wondered what happens after you wave goodbye in the morning, you’re not alone. One of the biggest questions parents have is, “What does my child’s day actually look like?”
While every day is a little different, one thing stays the same. Our days are filled with learning, laughter, exploration, and plenty of opportunities for children to feel safe, supported, and have fun.
Here’s a glimpse into a typical day at Bambinos.
7:00–9:00am | A warm welcome
The day begins with families arriving and children being signed in before heading into their learning space.
For some children, it’s straight into their favourite activity. Others might enjoy a cuddle with a kaiako or spend a few quiet minutes settling in with a book or puzzle.
If your child is new to Bambinos, our teachers take extra time to help them feel comfortable. We encourage parents to say goodbye before leaving, helping children build trust and confidence as they settle into their day.
Before long, familiar faces, friendly smiles, and favourite activities help the morning get underway.
Time to explore
As the morning unfolds, children move between a variety of experiences designed around their interests.
Depending on the day, they might be:
- Creating artwork
- Building with blocks
- Exploring sensory activities
- Reading stories
- Singing songs
- Playing outdoors
- Using their imagination through role play
Rather than every child doing the same thing at the same time, our learning programme encourages curiosity and allows children to explore at their own pace.
Morning tea together
Learning works up an appetite.
Children enjoy a nutritious morning tea prepared fresh by the centre, with plenty of fresh fruit and healthy options to keep them energised for the rest of the morning.
For children with allergies or special dietary requirements, meals are carefully planned to suit their individual needs.
Learning through play
One of the busiest parts of the day is often the late morning.
This is when children continue exploring, making discoveries, solving problems, building friendships, and developing new skills through play.
To a child, it might simply feel like fun.
To our kaiako, these moments are opportunities to support language, confidence, creativity, social development, and independence.
Lunchtime
By midday, it’s time to gather together again for another freshly prepared meal.
Shared mealtimes are about more than eating. They encourage conversation, independence, good manners, and trying new foods alongside friends.
Rest and recharge
After an active morning, children have the opportunity to rest.
Younger children settle into their own assigned beds for a nap, while older children enjoy quieter activities if they no longer sleep.
Every child is different, and we work with families to support routines that suit their individual needs.
Afternoon adventures
As everyone wakes up refreshed, the afternoon brings another chance to explore.
Outdoor play, creative activities, group games, music, storytelling, and hands-on learning continue throughout the afternoon.
Children often revisit favourite activities or discover something completely new before the day comes to an end.
Home time
As families arrive, children are signed out before heading home for the evening.
Our teachers enjoy sharing highlights from the day, whether it’s a new friendship, an exciting discovery, or a milestone your child has achieved.
These everyday conversations help keep families connected with their child’s learning and experiences.
Every day is different, and that’s the best part
No two days at Bambinos are exactly the same.
Children arrive with new ideas, new interests, and new questions, and our programme evolves alongside them. Whether they’re painting their next masterpiece, climbing outdoors, making a new friend, or discovering something for the very first time, every day is filled with opportunities to learn and grow.
It’s this balance of care, routine, play, and exploration that helps children leave each day feeling happy, confident, and excited to come back tomorrow.
