First Day
Signing in and out
As we are required to keep a record of attendance, we ask you to sign your child in on arrival and out when your child leaves in our attendance register.
We ask that you also to talk to the kaiako before leaving with your child. In the case of other adults collecting your child, they must have your written consent, or in the case of an emergency, a phone call will suffice. Settling in your child.
First Day at Bambinos
We are aware that the initial separation of you and your child may not be easy. To make the transition easier:
Every child is different so we understand how important it is to work closely with that new child and family prior to the child starting at Bambinos. The more effort we all put into settling the child into a centre makes it easier for the child and parent, making the initial separation easier to handle. Our procedures are:
We encourage parents/guardians/whanau to visit the childcare centre with their child prior to the child’s first day to become familiar with the caregivers and the other children for at least 5 days prior to starting.
We recommend that you say good-bye to your child when you leave as this develops trust between yourself, your child and the caregiver.
We encourage phone contact during the day.
We acknowledge the importance of our teachers/caregivers provide daily communication with the child’s family.
We welcome your child’s special comforting toys and blankets, but we will not take responsibility for any toys the children bring from home.

Picking up your child
It is important that you show consideration to our staff by picking up your child promptly at closing times as staff will often have bus connections to make as well as other commitments.
When dropping your child off in the mornings, it is also important that parents note that we are licensed from:
