What We Do

At Bambinos each child is respected as an individual whose potential is recognized and supported according to his/her strengths and interests and abilities.

Our aim is to work in partnership with parents and whanau to provide an extension of the home environment. We offer a nurturing and caring environment and provide additional education and social experiences. Love, care, trust and respect are paramount in our inclusive environment.

We build positive foundations for lifelong learning for our tamaraki (children), through strengthening our whanaungatanga with our families and community to ensure that we are actively engaging in respectful working relationships.

We believe that children are active learners and so provide them with a stimulating, encouraging, challenging and literacy rich environment. We aim to provide an environment where children learn through establishing trusting and positive relationships with other children and teachers.

We believe in guiding and facilitating children’s learning in an inclusive environment. We support children, teachers and their families to become aware of our culturally diverse communities.

We have fun! All of our centres are vibrant and full of life. We get down on the floor and play with the kids, we read amazing stories and make cool crafty stuff. We laugh a lot and sing songs and enjoy life.

Young children’s developing literacy and numeracy skills include new purposes for language and cognition, such as reasoning, verbal exploration, puzzling, and finding out about both their social and physical world.

Young children can recognize a wide range of patterns and regularities in the world around them. This encourages them to question when things are puzzling and different from what they expect and to respond to “nonsense” and humour.

Children learn through responsive and reciprocal relationships with people, places, and things.
